I got this description off the website. This is a lesson plan for the political aspects of Anna Bolena. Students will discuss the government systems of 16th century England and the United States today. Students will learn musical elements and terminology that supports the concepts and characters of Anna Bolena. This would be great for older students.

I went into "Programs" under this website. It listed several categories such as Wacky Words which was an English language adventure through song. Also there was a program for Self-Esteem which is designed to foster self-esteem through music.

This shows support for using music in the classroom and various other thought provoking teaching concepts. It is a good reference for someone writing their theory of music in the classroom and its place.

This was something that I thought was a neat way to incorporate music in the classroom. I like the way this teacher taught her students some of the "oldies".

www.jwpepper.com Marsha June 15
This site allows you to read about short musicals and other teaching aids. If you have an account with them (check with your music teacher because they probably do) you can order music on approval so you can really see and hear what they have. Unfortunately, they have "improved" their site and it's not very user friendly now. It's much harder to find what I'm looking for in their new format.

The Rap of the States is a song that I know works! It's not "too" much of a rap - there is a melody in there for the chorus or refrain but the states and capitals are "rapped".

This is one of the greatest ways to teach Spanish to anyone. I have the video and audio cassette that I used for my children and the children in my two- and three-year-old preschool classes. They were all singing the Spanish words and knowing what they meant in such a short time. I was amazed. This is now available on DVD and CD. I had a lot of fun using this myself.

This website is really neat. The direct page that I linked was great because it has a teacher adapting music for students with disabilities. He does music therapy but there are some good ideas on this site that anyone can adapt and use for different things in their room regardless of if you are a music teacher or not!
